No less than 112 platform updates!
At Intersect, every quarter, we look for ways to make compliance management smoother, smarter, and more valuable for our users. This quarter has been no different, with updates ranging from small usability improvements to major product enhancements, all designed to reduce friction, increase accuracy, and help you deliver compliance services with confidence.
Here’s a look at the highlights from this quarter’s product updates.
End-User Welcome Message – Smoother First Login
After observing nearly 1,000 end-user sessions, we saw a common challenge: many users struggled to get started after logging in for the first time when their accountant had initiated a task for them. This created unnecessary confusion and slowed down progress.
To improve this, we’ve introduced a personalised welcome message paired with the task manager modal immediately after login. Now, every end-user is greeted by name and instantly shown the tasks awaiting their attention.
This simple but powerful change has significantly reduced friction for end-users and has greatly improved their overall time-to-value on the platform.
✅ Value to you: Happier clients, faster task completion, and a smoother collaboration experience between accountants and their clients.
Adding of Legacy Shareholding – Streamlined Onboarding
We’ve simplified the process of adding legacy shareholding information. Previously, uploading the Board Resolution was a required step, but we recognised that in many cases, accountants don’t receive this document from their clients during onboarding. Often, clients don’t even have it on hand themselves.
To address this, we’ve made the Board Resolution upload optional. This update ensures a smoother onboarding experience for Intersect users, removing unnecessary roadblocks and making it easier to get started when certain legacy documents aren’t readily available.
✅ Value to you: Faster onboarding, less admin, and no more unnecessary delays when legacy documents are missing.
Reverify CIPC Data – A Second Chance for Accuracy
We noticed a recurring challenge: some users rushed through the initial CIPC validation when onboarding a client, missing critical details that were incorrectly pulled from CIPC. This not only caused frustration later but also added to our support team’s workload, as they had to step in and fix these oversights.
To help, we’ve introduced a new once-off “Reverify CIPC Data” option. This feature gives users one additional opportunity to double-check and correct their client’s onboarding data directly in the platform. By providing this second chance for verification, we reduce the risk of errors, lighten the load on support, and give our users more control over getting their data right the first time.
✅ Value to you: More accuracy upfront, fewer manual fixes later, and greater confidence in your compliance data.
Multi-Level Beneficial Ownership Diagrams – Complete Transparency
Our Beneficial Ownership (BO) diagram is moving from strength to strength as it evolves beyond its Beta phase. With this latest update, we’ve expanded its capabilities to support multi-level shareholding structures automatically.
This means that whenever additional shareholding layers exist in your client’s structure, they’ll now be displayed seamlessly in the BO diagram. The feature works by default and extends as deep as the data exists on the Intersect platform, even if one of the holding companies is managed by another professional on Intersect, outside your own subscription.
The result? You’ll always have a complete and holistic view of your client’s beneficial ownership, without needing to piece information together manually.
✅ Value to you: Deeper transparency, less manual investigation, and full confidence in compliance with BO reporting requirements.
Expired User Invitations – One-Click Reissue
Security remains a cornerstone of Intersect, which is why all new user invitations expire within 24 hours if not activated. While this protects the platform, it sometimes leaves accountants manually digging through their portfolio to identify and reissue expired invites, a time-consuming task.
To simplify this, we’ve added a one-click banner notification at the top of the Intersect Portfolio page. The platform now automatically detects expired tokens, aggregates the relevant user information, and allows you to resend invitations with a single click.
✅ Value to you: Strong security standards maintained, with far less admin and instant re-engagement of clients who missed their first invite.
Task Validation – Smarter, More Flexible Task Management
Our most significant update this quarter takes the Intersect Task Manager to an entirely new level, making it the most comprehensive and integrated task manager of any compliance platform.
We’ve introduced a task validation step, designed to give users more control and flexibility. During this step, all data, tasks, and documents are automatically segmented into two clear categories:
Items already on file or generated by Intersect.
Items still required from the client or completed by the user.
This smart categorisation means you can now upload any required documents you already have on file, instead of creating redundant client tasks. The platform dynamically updates the task flow, ensuring only necessary requests are sent to clients.
The result is a streamlined process that adapts to diverse operational workflows and client types, opening Intersect to an even broader user base.
✅ Value to you: Fewer redundant tasks, less client friction, and a smarter task manager that fits the way you already work.
With these updates, Intersect continues to evolve as the most comprehensive compliance management platform for accounting firms and their clients.
From streamlining onboarding and verification to deepening beneficial ownership insights, to making task management more intelligent and flexible, every improvement is built to save you time, reduce admin, and give you and your clients peace of mind.
We’re excited to see how these enhancements support your work, and as always, we welcome your feedback. Together, we’re reimagining compliance, one update at a time.
